About After Eight Bed and Breakfast
This Lancaster Breakfast building dates back to circa 1809, with the first addition before 1835. Several changes have been made over the years, with the last addition approximately 35 years ago, now the bed and breakfast kitchen and dining area. Extensive renovations were completed in 2000 with the division into eight guest rooms all with private tiled bathrooms in a very tasteful elegant style. Outside gardens and fountains were added during the bed and breakfast renovations for guests to enjoy.
About the Innkeeper
Robert has been the innkeeper at the After Eight Bed and Breakfast since November 2005. He enjoys the slower pace of life from having lived in Maryland in the suburbs his whole life prior to moving to Pennsylvania to take over the already-established bed and breakfast. Quite a change from his previous work, a family business specializing in garage doors, he enjoys meeting and assisting guests to find new ways to explore and enjoy Lancaster and all it’s activities. His grown children will sometimes come to visit and even participate in the New Year’s Eve yearly murder mystery. Robert hopes someday to return to his regular routine of swimming, hiking, backpacking and cycle camping.
