Historic Lancaster Walking Tour
Did you know that Lancaster, Pennsylvania is the only city in the United States that is entirely designated as a Historic District? If you haven’t noticed, the 270+ years of history of one of America’s oldest inland cities lies in its architecture and Old World style city planning. The best way to experience Lancaster’s historic streets and sites (and to not get lost along the way) is on a Historic Lancaster Walking Tour.
On the tour, you’ll be able to explore some of the city’s most interesting landmarks and locations with the help of a knowledgeable tour guide. Your guide will be able to tell you fascinating tales about the role Lancaster played in the history of our nation and how it had an important part in the Underground Railroad before and during the Civil War. Besides the stories and rich history, anyone who appreciates architecture will enjoy this tour. Lancaster’s historic buildings are almost perfectly preserved and the Victorian details can be breathtaking. Enjoy the walk through restored neighborhoods and even private gardens.
