Lancaster Barnstormers Baseball at Clipper Magazine Stadium
Take me out to the ballgame! Every spring, America's favorite pastime returns to ballparks all across the country – from the major leagues to the little leagues. If you want to root, root, root for the home team here in Lancaster, that's the Lancaster Barnstormers! With incredible action on the field, fun promotions all season long, and delicious food and drink specials to satisfy your ballpark cravings, you can't go wrong with a date night out at the ballpark.
The Lancaster Barnstormers are part of the independent Atlantic League, which in 2021 became a MLB Partner League. Their home field is at Clipper Magazine Stadium, just a short drive from After Eight B&B. It's a 6,000-seat stadium that hosted its first game in 2005. With its brick façade and steel beams, the stadium's architecture alludes to its industrial surroundings in the city's Northwest Corridor and its location on the site of a former rail yard.
To welcome spectators to the start of the 2022 season, the Barnstorms are hosting a free day of ballpark fun and a spring training game at Fan Fest on Saturday, April 16. Prior to game time, fans can hit the outfield for a friendly game of catch, and autographs will be available with the team manager and his entire pre-season squad. Throughout the afternoon, there will be performances from the cast of “Rock of Ages,” the production at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater that opens on April 22. At 1 p.m. the team will take the field against the Atlantic League's Black Sox.
After a few spring training games, the Barnstormers will be back in Lancaster for their 2022 home opener against the York Revolution at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 29. Enjoy the game and come dressed in your best 1980s throwback attire, as it's an 80s party with pre-game 80s music by the Downtown Sound Band. After the game, stick around for the fireworks that will light up the night sky in glowing colors.
